A photo memoir

My life in images

This section of the website is the beginning of my online photo memoir (photo autobiography).

Under this heading, I will display images that illustrate important aspects of my life, or have generated interesting memories, or have given rise to strong emotional reactions during the work — or are simply aesthetically interesting.

As in all photo memoirs the images are the centerpiece, while, in contrast to an illustrated memoir, the texts are ‘extended captions’.

An example

You probably see an ordinary portrait of a young mother with her newborn. For me, however, this image illustrates my discovery, at the age of 14, that I was a ‘mistake’. It makes me wonder if my whole life has been a life-long struggle to cope with the feeling of being a mistake? For an extended caption, see → I’m a mistake!
