A study of memoirs as a genre

With my youngest son (summer 2015)This project falls into two parts:

1) a study of the memoir as a genre, in which I reflect on different analytical approaches to and methods for the study of academic autobiography and memoirs — see overview to the right.

2) a more practical part, where I experiment with different ways of representing my life in texts and images → accounts of my life.

My theoretical and methodological approach is in perpetual flux. I’m changing, adding and deleting pages as the project proceeds. Thus read these pages as a public online draft to a coming book on the poetics of scientific memoir writing.

(And why do I call it a ‘project’? See discussion of the terms ‘project’, ‘investigation’, ‘study’ etc.) here: → why ‘project’?
